What happens during a new patient's visit?
First and foremost, we listen. During your initial one-hour visit, we’ll review your medical and dental history and discuss your concerns, desires and expectations. You’ll receive a comprehensive exam that covers the four main areas of dental health for adults:
- A tooth-by-tooth check for decay
- An assessment of periodontal (gum) health
- A jaw and bite examination
- A cosmetic consultation.
We may take digital X-rays as well as photos with an intraoral camera to aid in efficient diagnosis. Dr. Orser will display these images on your chair-side monitor to let you become an equal partner in planning your treatment. Can I preview my smile before I begin treatment?
Yes! We’re pleased to provide Trial Smile, an exclusive smile preview method that lets you literally try on your new smile before you begin treatment. Dr. Orser will create a mock-up of your teeth that you can wear. You’ll be able to realistically envision the results of specific therapies before undergoing treatment. I’m interested in dental implants. Do I have to see a specialist?
No. Dr. Orser is a skilled implant dentist who performs all aspects of dental implant planning, placement and restoration at our Arlington Heights office. He’ll evaluate your candidacy for implants, surgically insert the posts in your jaw and mount your custom replacement teeth. You won’t need to see a specialist or travel to multiple locations. My lower denture slips when I speak, eat or laugh. It’s embarrassing. Can Dr. Orser help?
Absolutely. Lower dentures are notorious for slipping at the most inconvenient times. Dr. Orser can secure your lower denture with state-of-the-art dental implants. Does Dr. Orser use lasers?

The pin-point accuracy of the laser lets Dr. Orser focus on a specific area without affecting surrounding tissue. Laser therapy is comfortable, too, and many patients don’t require anesthesia. What’s the average treatment time with Invisalign clear braces?
Treatment time depends on each patient’s unique straightening needs. However, average time ranges from 6 to 18 months, much less than traditional orthodontics.
