Using and Caring for Your Removable Prosthesis

The replacement teeth you have chosen will do great things:

  • It holds the adjacent teeth and the opposing teeth from shifting into the former space(s).
  • It fills in your smile so that only you and I know what’s missing.
  • With removal of compromised or unhealthy teeth, the removable prosthesis can help improve your dietary habits.

Home Care Instructions

  1. Wear the prosthesis every day and take it out at night.
  2. If any area becomes sore, leave the prosthesis in (if you can) until you come in for an appointment. This allows us to see the sore spot.
  3. Clean the prosthesis by brushing the inside and outside with mouthwash such as Biotene, Closys II or Listerine.
  4. Do not rinse the prosthesis with hot water or leave it in your car.
  5. Keep it away from all pets, especially dogs.
